Liverpool confused with the situation regarding Mohammed Salah

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool striker Mohammed Salah might represent his country Egypt in the 2024 Summer Olympics
if he gets called up. There is a big chance that the striker would be called up by his national team to
represent them in Olympics.

Mo Salah is very eager to join his national team right now, in order to win the gold medal in the
Olympics. Salah had to leave his nation’s side after a season disrupting hamstring injury during AFCON.
This harmed him in the final third of the season. He wasn’t able to perform the way he is used to
perform.
Mo Salah leaving for national duty at that time could disrupt the plans of Arne Slot and Liverpool.

Liverpool might have to let Salah go

The 32 year old Liverpool striker is very much motivated to represent his nation. This could mean that
newly appointed manager of Liverpool, Arne Slot, might miss the Egyptian in his initial plans. If Salah
gets the green signal, Liverpool would be missing him in their pre-season tour. The Merseyside would
be facing Spanish club Real Betis on July 27th followed by league rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
It could be a big blow as after 9 years, Liverpool would be starting a new campaign with a whole new
manager and staff members.

The Egyptian team is determined to have Mo Salah in their team. Egypt’s Olympic squad’s manager
Rogerio Micale, is very excited to have the Egyptian king in his team.

“We are delaying the matter while waiting for the big three in football to be known. If Mohamed Salah
is present, it is necessary for him to carry the Egyptian flag.”

Yassir Idris on On Time Sports according to the Egypt Daily News.

How would Liverpool tackle this problem

Liverpool have not started their transfers for the next season yet. So there is no confirmations as of
now that they are going for a replacement for Mo Salah. They do believe that, unlike the previous
season, if they receive any kind of lucrative offer for the striker, they will accept it. For now, there
have been no confirmations but only links and rumours with defenders.
Before Salah joins with the squad, Liverpool may start Colombian winger Luis Diaz as a right winger.
The Dutch manager could also start Harvey Elliot as a right winger while playing Trent Alexander
Arnold as a midfielder. The pre-season could be a great opportunity for Slot to experiment with his
team and know how and around whom should he form the team.
