Liverpool Eyeing United Transfer Target

Manchester United target Lucas Beraldo from PSG is now linked with Liverpool for the summer transfer window.

Liverpool Shift Focus to Lucas Beraldo After United Interest

Manchester Utd are facing yet another setback in the transfer market. This time one of their top defensive targets is now being strongly linked with rivals Liverpool.

PSG centre-back Lucas Beraldo was part of their recent FIFA Club World Cup squad. He was initially on United’s radar. New head coach Ruben Amorim was keen on making changes in his backline. This was especially after the exits of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof.

But, as per TBR Football, Liverpool have entered the picture and are now in pole position to land the Brazilian defender. PSG are reportedly open to letting Beraldo leave this window. Arne Slot’s side sees him as a solid option if their move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi doesn’t work out. Guehi has shown interest in joining the Reds. But, if the talks fall apart, Beraldo could be next in line. This is leaving Man Utd empty-handed once again.

Manchester Utd’s Transfer Window Issues Continue

So far, Man Utd’s summer transfer activity has been far from exciting. Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon are the only signings as of now.

The Red Devils are in talks for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez as well. But, there’s nothing official yet. A shortage of midfield and defensive signings is becoming an issue. That is particularly with the injury problems that emerged last season.

Although, Amorim is desperately looking for new options. Liverpool quickly moving for Beraldo shows how slowly Utd is working. If the PL champions signs the PSG defender, that would be another misstep for the Red Devils.

With rivals becoming stronger, Man Utd have to act fast. Time is running out, and the club needs to make their moves to get their targets. They can’t risk wasting another year chasing the top teams in the league.
