Liverpool plot bold contract move after Szoboszlai’s stunning start

Following‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Szoboszlai’s brilliant goal-scoring run in the first part of the season, Liverpool are reportedly intending to give the Hungarian a fresh new deal. According to the report, Liverpool boss Arne Slot sees the Hungarian midfielder as the most important player in his evolving system and is definitely very keen to keep him around.

Apart from Szoboszlai, the company is probably also going to renew the contract of Ryan Gravenberch and give him a salary ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌increase.

Liverpool’s Contract Strategy

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have engaged in initial discussions with the representatives of Szoboszlai. The new agreement aims to renew the contract with a salary increase, extending the current 2028 deal by two more years. Szoboszlai has been “super happy” with his contribution, as he has been in the starting line-up in every Premier League and Champions League match. He has been highly consistent which has put him on a level that he can be the standard bearer of work ethic and creativity in the midfield while Wirtz is having a hard time of scoring.

The Liverpool side considers it of paramount importance to renew their contracts with the team members who play a key part in the team and doing that early on is a way of avoiding such dramas as contract sagas later on.

Impact and Leadership Role

Szoboszlai’s energy, pressing, and leadership earned praise from fellow players, including captain Virgil van Dijk. The win against Real Madrid showed how much Liverpool needed Szoboszlai as the driving force of Slot’s team.

Gravenberch, on the other hand, through the transformation from a player of the squad to a regular starter, has increased Liverpool’s midfield depth. The duo is considered as the future of the club’s long-term project by the management and the fans.

Author’s Opinion

Waiting to do that is one of the smartest and most timely moves. As far as his performance, mentality, and adaptability go, he is one of the pillars that will carry Liverpool onward in the next era under ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Slot.
