Luke Shaw Considers Saudi Switch

Luke Shaw is reportedly ready to leave Manchester United. The injury-plagued defender open to a big-money move to Saudi Arabia for one final major payday.

Defender’s United Future Hangs by a Thread

Luke Shaw’s time at Manchester United could be entering its final chapter. The full-back has just two years left on his current deal. He is aware of serious interest from Saudi clubs and may walk away from Old Trafford as early as January.

After struggling with repeated injuries, Shaw managed only 12 appearances under Ruben Amorim. Youngsters Diego Leon and Patrick Dorgu are set to be given more chances at left-back. Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot has impressed as a regular starter in the new 3-4-2-1 system.

Shaw featured in Utd’s friendly against Leeds and is part of the pre-season squad touring the USA. He is well aware he may soon be get limited minutes when the season kicks off.

Injuries and New Faces Push Luke Shaw Towards Exit

Shaw’s time at Man Utd has been affected by fitness problems. That also includes a double leg break in 2015. That injury kept him out for almost a year. It was the start of a string of setbacks that probably has him missing around five years. However, he is still a respected presence in the dressing room, and is still picking up a £150,000 a week.

Although, off pitch respect may not be enough to secure him regular minutes. The team is now prioritising new legs, and a number of new signings. Amorim is focusing on strengthening elsewhere. He is unlikely to resist if Shaw pushes for a move.

The defender has made just 27 appearances over the past two campaigns. That said, the club would likely agree to a decent fee to clear space. For Shaw, a move to Saudi Arabia could provide the perfect final chapter.
