Man United give green light to academy graduate’s departure

One Man United academy graduate has been heavily linked with exit this summer. The club have now given green light to his departure. The player is not in the future plans of Ruben Amorim.

The star in question here is Marcus Rashford. He has came up through Man United’s academy and has played major role for them. But, the 27 year old had been out of form in recent seasons. As a result, he fell down the pecking order. Later, he was sent on loan to Aston Villa.

Rashford had a good half season under Unai Emery. But, he was unwilling to continue there despite Villa having an option to buy. In addition, his wages are too high for Villa to afford. Lastly, the player himself wants a move away from England to a club competing in Champions League.

Man United ready to sell Marcus Rashford

According to Caught Offside, United are unwilling to keep Rashford beyond this summer. The 27 year old is not in the plans of Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils are likely to demand around £40 million which the same price they asked Villa to pay if they want Rashford permanently.

Amorim wants players who he thinks fit well in his tactical plans. United have already signed Matheus Cunha and are now focused on Bryan Mbeumo. They will then turn their attention to clinical striker with Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney being eyed up right now.

Rashford wants to join La Liga champions

Rashford is keen to sign Barcelona this summer. The Spanish giants were keen to sign Nico Williams who instead has signed 10 year extension at Athletic Club. Barca also has eyes on Luis Diaz but he has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich.

Hence, Barca can be soon seen returning in race for Rashford. The 27 year old is even ready to accept pay-cut in order to complete his move to Spain. It will be interesting if Barca are open to pay £40 million for him to United.
