Manchester United player Rasmus Hojlund is close to signing a loan deal to AC Milan. The talks between the two clubs are progressing rapidly as both clubs look to reach an agreement.
AC Milan step up chase for United forward
AC Milan are pushing hard to snap up Rasmus Hojlund this summer. Reports from Italy claim the Rossoneri are on the brink of securing his signature.
The Serie A side have agreed on a loan fee worth around £5.2m. Both clubs are still negotiating the buy option. But, Manchester Utd’s price tag of £35m remains a sticking point. Milan value the player closer to £26m. but, hope is growing that a middle ground will be found soon.
Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford has been cast into doubt since Benjamin Sesko’s arrival from RB Leipzig last week. The Dane has yet to greenlight a move. He is insisting he is ready to fight for a place in Ruben Amorim’s squad. But, the lack of game time in pre-season speaks volumes.
The young forward stayed on the bench during United’s friendly against Fiorentina. He costed United £64m a year ago. He has had a tough PL season with four goals across 32 appearances. Although, he was more productive in the Europa League.
Old Trafford exit taking shape
While Hojlund is the main name linked with a move, he is not alone on United’s list of potential exits. Meanwhile, Chelsea is showing genuine interest in Garnacho and others such as Antony and Tyrell Malacia are also in the window. Yet, it is Hojlund’s case that looks closest to resolution, as talks between Milan and United enter the final stretch.
If the deal is completed, it would be a swift turnaround for the player. Milan see him as a potential attacking weapon, and if the loan goes well, the move could become permanent.
