Manchester United have reached an agreement with the representative of Seria A side Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. Recently, the player has been linked with Ac Milan, Arsenal and Manchester United. However, the Red Devils are confident about the signing of the Dutch international.
Manchester United is ready to make some signing in the summer transfer window to strengthen the squad. The Red Devils already identified some players for their squad. Joshua Zirkzee is one of them. United’s Anthony Martial confirmed that he will leave Old Trafford in the summer when his contract will expire, after serving nine years at the club. So, united is desperately looking for a new striker alongside sole striker Rasmus Hojlund. United are targeting Jonathan David of Lille and Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna for the replacement of Anthony Martial.

Joshua Zirkzee had a great last season with Bologna and made 37 appearances. The 23-year-old scored 12 goals and bagged 6 assists in all competitions last season. The Dutch International helped Thiago Motta’s side to reach the Champions League position for the next season for the first time since 1964. The Dutchman ranked among the top 10 players in Seria A last season for goals from open play. The Dutch international has two years left in his contract which will end in 2026. But it seems unlikely that Zirkzee will stay at the club. Bayern II manager Holger Seitz praised the 23-year-old and called him a powerful striker. Joshua’s brilliant performance keeps him in the dutch squad for the ongoing Euro 2024.
Both Milan and Manchester United are ready to pay the player’s release clause of 34M. United also have agreed on the brokerage fee with Joshua Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian. The agent has courted controversy by reportedly wanting a commission of 15% for any potential move. Kia Joorabchian is said to want as much as 13M from this transfer. As per some news, Milan are not willing to pay the higher commission, which opens the door for United to sign Joshua Zirkzee.
Is Joshua Zirkzee the perfect signing for United?
The Red Devils believe that Zirkzee would add some more goals to the scoreboard with Rasmus Hojlund. Zirkzee is more physical and very powerful in duels with opposition defenders which Hojund lacks. Manchester United have been looking for a new striker just like Zirkzee who is physically strong in the opposition box. In one word Zirkzee is the perfect replacement for Anthony Martial, not only in terms of position but also in terms of physical attribution. Having two young strikers in the front line will definitely boost United’s forward, which will help the Red Devils to create more chances in the opponent’s box.
