Manchester United academy talent Omari Forson is set to leave the Red Devils on a free transfer. He has tied his future outside of Erik Ten Hag’s plan. Reports are suggesting that he will join Italian side Monza on a free transfer.
Who is Omari Forson
Omari Forson is a London born Manchester United academy graduate. He has raised from the Carrington academy where players like Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho used to train. He is a proficient attacker who loves to play along the left wing. Erik Ten Hag has said that his defensive skills are also good. Due to his outstanding performances in the under 19 Manchester United team, he broke into the first eleven where he showed his talent. He joined Manchester United academy from Tottenham Hotspurs back in January of 2019. Since then he has been giving one after another master-class performances. In the pre-season games he shined for Manchester United.
Omari’s decision
According to Express Omari wants to play regularly for Manchester United. Until now he has appeared four times for the club. He also made a full time debut against Fulham. It is really a difficult task to break into the first eleven when the team has plenty of talented players. Clubs like Newcastle, Crystal Palace were eager to get hands on the player. But he has decided to sign a contract with Italian side Monza which is valid till 2028. The Italian side finished 12th at Serie A. It is certainly a big loss for Manchester United because players like Omari Forson is the future of the club.
This new challenge in Serie A will help to nurture the player. In the previous season AC Monza did not perform well. They had 37% winning chance in Home games. So, Raffaele Palladino led AC Monza squad were in need of a talented midfielder who can stabilize the midfield. And Omari Forson can certainly be the solution for their midfield crisis.

Recently Omari Forson has displayed his talents in the Theatre of Dreams. Omari is a versatile player because of his multiple attributes. He can play both in midfield and in right wing. Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has preferred him over other academy stars. Players like Facundo Pellistri has lost his place in the team. This thing has happened because of the emergence of Omari Forson. Currently Facundo Pellistri is playing for Girona FC and has made twelve appearances with the senior team. The Uruguayan international joined Girona on a loan from Manchester United.

At the end of the 2023-2024 season Erik Ten Hag was full of praises for the young academy talent. Once Ten Hag said, “He had some good actions. He was reliable in defending and had some good actions in possession. I saw, for his first time, he did well. He deserves the position. Lately, he’s performing very well, over the last half year he’s worked very hard, showed his progression.”
Details about the transfer
According to BBC sport the 19 year old English player has rejected contract extension which was given from Manchester United. He has chosen Serie A as the next chapter of his footballing career. He has signed a four year contract with the Italian club. It is being said that the club will pay a compensation fees to the Red Devils. The transfer news was confirmed Tuesday by Fabrizio Romano. There he will play for them in each and every game. It is being said that he will join AC Monza once his contract with Manchester United gets expired in this month.
