Marcus Rashford and Camp in Talks with Barcelona

According to reports, representatives of Marcus Rashford have met with Barcelona as they look at the potential transfer swoop. Although, the Spanish giants are prioritizing another Premier League winger.

Barça Eyes Marcus Rashford Amid Summer Shuffle

Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is once again on the radar of Barcelona. Reportedly, fresh talks took place between his camp and the La Liga giants. With the forward looking to play Champions League football next season, the timing of the meeting couldn’t be more telling.

Although, a move to Aston Villa went through earlier this year on loan. So, his long-term future at Old Trafford seems to be coming to an end. The Red Devils will be asking for £40 million for their player. That is a fee that would tempt several top clubs.

Rashford scored four goals and made five assists in his short Villa stint. He has regained enough form to make it back into Gareth Southgate’s England squad. However, with Aston Villa missing out on a top-four finish, their option to buy looks dead in the water.

Meanwhile, Barca have listed Rashford as one of four attacking targets for the summer. However, Liverpool’s Luis Diaz is their main target as per Sport. A move for Diaz could prove too pricey, which gives Rashford a shot at becoming their Plan B – or even Plan A. Marcus is said to be eager to join the Spanish club. He’s willing to take a wage cut from his current £350,000-a-week salary for the move.

Man Utd Future in Doubt as No.10 Shirt Set for New Name

With his time at Utd looking uncertain, Rashford may not be the only big name leaving the club this June. Reports suggest Wolves’ Matheus Cunha is close to signing a £62.5 million deal with Utd. And he’ll take Rashford’s iconic No.10 shirt next season.

As new manager Ruben Amorim starts reshaping the squad, more exits are likely on the cards.
