Bryan Mbeumo completes £71m Man Utd move after a month-long saga. The Cameroonian star has finally landed his dream switch to Old Trafford.
Man Utd Land Mbeumo After Intense Chase
Manchester United have officially signed Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth up to £71m.
The Red Devils have agreed to a payment schedule of £65m. In which, Man United will pay for the player in four instalments. Also, they will pay £6m in add-ons based on both team and individual performance.
Brentford rejected two bids prior to the deal. The Bees maintained their asking price while Mbeumo was confident and ignored bids from rivals. Spurs and former head coach Thomas Frank were also planning to bring him in. The talented winger has been given the No. 19 shirt at Old Trafford. It is the same number he wore at Brentford as he made it to the Premier League.
A Star Signing After Record Season
The move to Old Trafford has not fazed Mbeumo at all. Not to forget he managed to score 20 goals and make seven assists last season. These stats are career highs for the player. At his current level Mbeumo was only behind Premier League stars like Salah, Isak, and Haaland.
No Man Utd player has outscored Mbeumo since he made his top flight debut in 2021. So, it should be a major plus for new manager Ruben Amorim. The consistent and explosive attacker will give United’s attack something different. The Red Devils totally lacked firepower last season. This move is going to change the attacking line for the club.
Meanwhile, Mbeumo becomes the fourth signing of Amorim’s tenure. He is joining Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Enzo Kana-Biyik in the list.
With this signing, Man Utd aim to sharpen their edge in the final third and push back into the title race. Mbeumo’s dream of playing for United is now a reality. So, the fans will be hoping he hits the ground running.
