Napoli are interested in Jakub Kiwior

NAPOLI

Arsenal player Jakub Kiwior is linked with a move to Napoli. But Arsenal coach Mike Arteta does not want to loose him.

Kiwior’s recent form

Arsenal signed him for just £20m. In 2023-2024 season Mikel Arteta played the Polish international in left back position but he is a left footed center back. He performed well at the backline. But in last few games Takehiro Tomiyasu returned to the squad and replaced him at the left back position. From this event it is clear that Mikel Arteta prefers Tomiyasu over Kiwior.

Napoli has appointed Antonio Conte as their new head coach. According to various sources it is being said that the manager is a huge admirer of the player. Conte loves his playing style and thinks that will perfectly fit into his system. So, Napoli are showing interest in the player.

Juventus have also shown interest in the player. According to TBR Juventus coach Thiago Motta wants the defender for his new project at Turin. Previously the defender has worked with Thiago Motta in Spezia. So there is a connection between them.

Situation at Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is building a long-term project at Arsenal. Since now they have signed players who have helped the squad in several ways. Jakub Kiwior is certainly one of them. When their first choice left back Takehiro Tomiyasu got injured, he took his role and filled his absence with masterclass performances.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his thoughts on the Kiwior’s adaptation to left back position and said, ‘We made a decision to bring him in earlier, because we believed that whichever player we were going to sign to have the role that he had to have was going to need time, and that was the case. And we have made it difficult for him for two reasons: One, because he hasn’t played that many minutes, and the second one because we asked him to play in a position that he’s never played in before.

So it’s like putting William Saliba as a full-back, and saying, “There we go, tomorrow go and perform and do what we have to do!” And I think he’s adapted really well. I think he’s playing better and better, you can tell that he’s earning the confidence and physically he’s better, he understands the role much better and he’s been really good.
