Newcastle are set to sign a ‘special’ player in the coming days

Newcastle United are set to make their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Newcastle headed into this summer with a number of questions surrounding their transfer strategy. Profit and Sustainability Rules are hanging over Newcastle’s heads now. Also, many wonder if they’d see that much movement at St James’ Park this summer.

However, Newcastle have wasted no time in getting their first deal done. Also, a move should be wrapped up in the coming days.

Newcastle set to sign Tosin Adarabioyo

According to The Mail’s Craig Hope, Newcastle are set to wrap up the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo in the coming days. This report states that Newcastle have made good progress on this front over the past few days.

The ‘special’ defender had also been linked to Tottenham and Liverpool. However, it’s Newcastle who seem to have won this race.

Tosin to Newcastle may end up being the first deal of the summer to be done. Also, there’s an argument to make that this could end up being the bargain of the summer.

Newcastle would be getting a real coup with a proven Premier League centre-back with an incredibly high ceiling on a free transfer. Of course, it’s unclear what other deals will be done in the Premier League this summer. However, Tosin to Newcastle on a free will take some beating as a bargain signing.

This is a real blow for Fulham who will be losing one of their most valuable players for absolutely nothing. Although, Fulham’s loss is the Magpies’ gain as Tosin gears up to head to Tyneside.

Adarabioyo snubs Manchester United move

According to a report by the Northern Echo, Adarabioyo would actually prefer a move to Newcastle over Man United this summer.

Tosin is said to be ‘heavily leaving’ towards a move to Tyneside regardless of interest from Ten Hag’s side. It’s rare to find a player of Adarabioyo’s quality as a free agent. Perhaps, this exposes some lacklustre business from Fulham in the first place.

When considering why the centre-back would prefer a move to Newcastle, it’s likely something to do with the solid foundations at the club. There’s so much uncertainty at Manchester United right now. It’s not only with Ten Hag’s future but also with several of their first team players.

Whereas joining Newcastle must feel like a much more straightforward proposition and consistent platform to showcase his talent.

Moreover, Eddie Howe’s side are also thought to be closely monitoring a move for Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly as well. Perhaps, a player Man United may then also turn their attention to. All that being said, it has now been analysed whether Newcastle will actually need to sell Alexander Isak this summer.

Tosin Adarabioyo to the Magpies’ likely to get done

“Tosin Adarabioyo. My information is that the formal offer was made to him over the weekend. Tosin knows the project at Newcastle, I’m told he’s excited by that, he likes what he’s been told.

“At the moment Newcastle are absolutely the frontrunners on that one. Should it all be ok in terms of money and numbers involved, we could see movement on that in the next few days or the next couple of weeks,”

“That makes too much sense, good age, good profile, again, I think that one will get done.”said Hope.

Although, no deal is ever done until pen is put to paper and an announcement is made. However, by the sounds of it, it may not be long before Tosin is plying his trade on Tyneside.
