Newcastle are preparing to offer Marcus Rashford a fresh start away from Man Utd with a potential loan move this summer.
Newcastle Set to Hand Rashford a Champions League Lifeline
Newcastle United are reportedly ready to help Marcus Rashford get his career back on track after a rough spell at Man Utd. The England forward has found it hard to regain his best form at Old Trafford. He could get the chance to shine in next season’s Champions League with the Magpies.
Despite his desire to join Barcelona, the Spanish club have not made a concrete move. That leaves the door open for Newcastle to swoop in. Eddie Howe’s side are planning for a big season ahead. They see Rashford as a strong option to rotate with Alexander Isak, not replace him.
Although, the Toons would prefer a loan deal, Utd are more interested in a permanent sale. With his contract running until 2028, the Red Devils could still cash in if the right offer comes through.
Fresh Start Could Boost Rashford Before World Cup Push
Rashford’s last outing for United came in December. After being left out of the squad, he joined Aston Villa on loan. He managed to show glimpses of his old form under Unai Emery. He scored four goals and assisted six more in just 17 games.
Marcus is now looking to play UCL football again. He wants to increase his chances to play in the World Cup that is just under two years away. Newcastle need more firepower up front with Callum Wilson drawing interest from Everton and Saudi teams.
A Rashford transfer may be the best outcome for both parties. That provides the forward a new start and the Toons an experienced player ready to make a statement.
With Chelsea snapping up Ipswich’s Liam Delap, Newcastle could make their way by securing Rashford’s services in the coming weeks.
