Ex-United Coach Hints Palmer at Old Trafford in Future
Having left from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Cole Palmer made an early Premier League mark. Palmer signed with Chelsea in 2023 and last season totaled 18 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.
Although, Palmer’s fine season flew under the radar of many. In addition, he helped Enzo Maresca’s side win the Club World Cup and was named the best player of the tournament as well.
However, the Englishman’s name has made headlines again. Rene Meulensteen, a former coach at Man Utd, recently stated that Palmer could one day don the red at Old Trafford. Rene was a first-team coach under the legendary head coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
Speaking with Grosvenor Sport, Meulensteen referenced that Palmer has been a fan of the Man United for many years. He pointed out that it wouldn’t be a surprise if the player made a move to join the Red Devils sometime in the future. The former coach even claimed it’s “almost a public secret” that the Chelsea star supports Man United.

Meanwhile, Cole Palmer is certainly enjoying a successful spell with the West London side. The talented playmaker is having his best form with the Blues. He has got off to a very good start in the Premier League and beyond since leaving Man City.
Chelsea fans would hate to lose one of their brightest stars. Although, in the long run it might be difficult for Palmer to ignore a club from when he was a boy. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that Chelsea are willing to sell their star.
