Parma are reportedly showing strong interest in Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira. New head coach Carlos Cuesta is aiming to bring familiar faces into his squad.
Cuesta has recently took over at the Italian club. He is apparently keen on signing the midfielder. He had the player before when he was assistant to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
The manager wants creativity and control from his midfield, Vieira is exactly what he wants. The midfielder has not had a place in the Gunners starting eleven at Arsenal. He arrived in 2022 from Porto for €35m. And he has been on loan to Porto for 2024-25 campaign.
His return to some consistent form in Portugal may have caught the eye of his former coach. So, a fresh start in Serie A could now be on the cards.
Gunners Open to Vieira Sale
Reports suggest that Arsenal are open to letting Fabio Vieira leave permanently. The club is looking to raise funds for a big summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s side has already locked in key signings. They are pushing hard to land Sporting CP’s Victor Gyokeres as well.
Vieira hasn’t quite delivered at the Emirates so far. So, he could also potentially provide the cash to do these deals. The player came with a lot of potential, but couldn’t find regular minutes in the crowded Gunners’ midfield. This possible move to Parma with a manager who knows his game could be helpful for his playing career.
For Cuesta, it will be a good first statement signing and shows his intention to continue to develop the Italian side. Arsenal is trying to make changes in different areas of the pitch. So, this deal could benefit all of the parties.
