Pedro Sounds Alarm: Chelsea Can’t Afford Another Costly Slip-Up

Chelsea‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ attacker Joao Pedro demanded more focus after the team had a 2-2 draw against Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League. The South American conceded that Chelsea dropped valuable points in Baku due to lack of focus and stated that if they made the same kind of errors, their European ambitions could be in jeopardy next ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌season.

Focus and Discipline Missing in Key Moments

According‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ to Pedro, the Blues were dominating and pressing early on but due to some careless plays, they gave Qarabag the chance to get back into the game. He pointed out that at this type of game it is crucial to always have your energy and focus with you during the entire ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌match. “We started good, then made it difficult. If focus drops, the other team scores,” he said.

Pedro’s statements were in line with the squad’s growing dissatisfaction with their performance which has been up and down. The forward asserted that each player must be “100% focused” to be sure that such mistakes will not happen again both in matches at home as well as in Europe.

Fitness Concerns Downplayed by Forward

Contrary to the previous reports about his ongoing fitness which have been a concern, Pedro brushed off the worries regarding his situation. Though manager Enzo Maresca has carefully managed his playing time, Pedro said he feels fit to play in every match.

“I am alright, I have a great feeling and I want to play in all the games,” he ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌expressed. One can clearly see his fighting spirit shows his commitment to helping Chelsea return to their best and regain their rhythm.

Author’s Opinion

The problems that Chelsea face are primarily due to their minds wandering rather than tactical deficiencies. Pedro’s candidness shines a light on the bigger issue – a squad full of talent yet lacking focus throughout the game. If they don’t sharpen their concentration, they will still be far from achieving progress in Europe and the Premier ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌League.
