We have seen the newly released Premier League fixture. And in the first day Chelsea will be playing against Manchester City.
How Enzo Maresca will line up him team?
Recently Chelsea hierarchy have taken the decision to move on from Mauricio Pochettino and have appointed Enzo Maresca as Chelsea’s new coach. The newly appointed Italian manager was an assistant coach at Manchester City. So, he is well aware of Pep’s strategies.
For any Italian coach, wingers and wing backs are pretty much important for the entire system. So we can expect that Enzo Maresca will improve the game of his wingers. At this moment Chelsea have wingers like Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke, Cristopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk. Everyone of them are talented players but they are not playing in coordination with the team.
Goalkeepers
Dorde Petrovic and Robert Sanchez are the two goalkeeping options for Chelsea. The latter one started the season with solid performances. As the season progressed, his performance also dropped and he got injured. Robert’s sloppiness in the goal has cost Chelsea several important games. For example, he straightly gave a ball to Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and he scored a goal in the empty net. This incident happened when the gunners were trailing by one goal to Chelsea.
For these reasons, Dorde Petrovic is the best choice number 1 for Chelsea. He is so calm and composed in the goal. On top of that he has good ball distribution ability. At the end of the season he was playing every match for Chelsea and was saving the Blues with one after another good saves.
Defenders
Now it is not clear that whether Enzo Maresca will play a back five or a back four defensive system.
If the new manager sticks to the back five system, the best defensive trio will be Levi Colwill at the Left Centre Back position, Axel Disasi at the right Centre Back position and Trevor Chalobah in the middle. On top of that Right back position will be open for Recce James or Malo Gusto and the Left Back position will be open for Marc Cucurella. This defensive line can certainly withstand attacking waves from world class teams like Manchester City.
Chelsea have already signed defenders like Tosin Adarabioyo. Among these positions the left centre back position can be interchangeable between Colwill and Adarabioyo.

Axel Disasi have become a defensive leader at the back. He has made good bonding with his fellow defenders like Levi Colwill, Trevor Chalobah. This team chemistry always helps to understand each other’s game. Eventually their performance will be improved.
Midfielders
The Blues have some talented midfielders in their squad. The list includes Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez, Lesley Ugochukwu, Romeo Lavia. Among them we have seen the best combination between Caicedo and Conor Gallagher. Enzo Fernandez didn’t perform well under Mauricio Pochettino. So the preferred choice is the combination of Caicedo and Conor Gallagher.
Attacking positions
If Chelsea want to win against Manchester City, they need a proper number 10 which they already have in their squad. Cole Palmer is the player they must utilize in this important position. He should be surrounded by players like Nicolas Jackson at the front, Raheem Sterling or Christopher Nkunku at the left wing position and Noni Madueke at the right wing. If the Blues can pull of the signing of Michael Olise, the young French winger will be the first choice at the right wing position for Chelsea. On the other side Mykhailo Mudryk should prove his abilities, or else he will barely get a chance in the first eleven. The Chelsea fans are hoping that talented players like Mudryk will be reignited by the new manager Enzo Maresca.
