Premier League Giant Set To Sign Barcelona’s Marc Guiu

FC BARCELONA

Premier League Giant Chelsea are reportedly all set to sign Barcelona’s young striker Marc Guiu. The Blues are willing to pay the Spanish striker’s release clause of 5M. Chelsea have already signed numerous youngsters, spending over 1 billion over three transfer windows. This year is also the same as Chelsea starts signing young players. Guiu will be the third signing for the Blues in the summer after Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo and Palmeiras’ Estevao Willian.

Barcelona tried to keep the young Marc Guiu and offered him a new contract with a new release clause. But the young 18-year-old made his decision that he will leave the club and join Chelsea. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is a huge fan of Guiu and wants to bring the youngster into his squad. The Spaniard also wasn’t to play premier league football, which is the advantage of Chelsea.

Chelsea want the Spaniard as the first team member and have no intention of sending him on loan. The Blues are expected to discuss a long-term contract with the young striker. Just this morning, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal is moving “into the final stages”.

Marc Guiu In Barcelona

Guiu had a great campaign at Barcelona last season. The 18-year-old scored 23 seconds into his first-team debut to help Barcelona secure a 1-0 win over Athletic Club in October last year. Marc Guiu made his Champions League three days later against Shakhtar Donetsk, before scoring his first Champions League goal against Royal Antwerp on December 13 last year.

But the Spaniard showed his class in his standout performance for Spain against Canada in the FIFA U17 World Cup in November 2023. Marc Guiu scored a goal, provided an assist, and took 7 attempts on goal. The 18-year-old had a dribble success rate of 100% in that match and won three duels. This shows the quality of the striker. Many believe he is a complete striker.

Football Scout Jacek Kulig shared a post in X, and said, “incredibly dangerous player in the penalty area,”

Why is Guiu perfect for Chelsea?

Nicolas Jackson is the main striker for Chelsea. The Senegalese made 44 appearances for the Blues last season, scored 17 goals, and registered 6 assists. However, because of Christopher Nkumku’s injury last season, Jackson had to do everything himself.

But the signing of Guiu will be perfect for Jackson. Marc Guiu could play the supporting role of Nicolas Jackson. The Spaniard could come for the Blues as a substitute which will lessen the burden on Chelsea’s number 15. Also, Guiu will not replace Jackson, as he is too young and needs time to improve his playing skills. This will ensure that Jackson will get more playing time under Chelsea’s new boss even with the signing of a new striker.
