After a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal last season, Chelsea have reportedly set a £20m price tag for winger Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea Ready to Sell Raheem Sterling After A Tough Loan Stint At Arsenal
Raheem Sterling’s time at Chelsea may be coming to a close. As per the Sun, the Blues would allow him to leave the club for just £20m.
The Englishman returned to Stamford Bridge following a poor loan spell at Arsenal. Chelsea have a new head coach Enzo Maresca in charge. They are set to majorly reshuffle the squad. Now, it seems Sterling is among those set to leave.
They have a number of young and more in-form attackers already in the squad. So, Sterling’s role has become less key at the club. The low asking price could attract several clubs looking for an experienced forward. Additionally, the Blues are looking to clear space and raise funds for new signings.
London or Abroad? Clubs Circling Around
Sterling’s next move remains uncertain, but there’s strong rumours he could stay in London. Crystal Palace had shown an interest last year and may come back in for him. Other clubs such as West Ham United, Fulham and Brentford are also said to be interested. Although, there are no formal talks as of yet.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian clubs will be able to meet Chelsea’s valuation without a second thought. While the summer window is still new, the Blues will be very active in the market.
There are also question marks over the futures of Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix and Ben Chilwell. So, this is definitely going to be a busy window at the West London club. Whether Sterling ends up in England or takes up a big offer abroad, remains to be seen. But, his Chelsea chapter may be closing soon.
