Rashford Not Ready for Barcelona, Says Teddy Sheringham

Marcus Rashford is not worthy of the Barcelona transfer says Man Utd legend Teddy Sheringham. Teddy is doubting the United star’s recent career choices.

Teddy Sheringham Slams Rashford’s Barcelona Dream

Manchester United great Teddy Sheringham has not held back on his feelings regarding Marcus Rashford. He thinks, in his opinion, the player hasn’t done enough to land a move to Barcelona.

Rashford is fresh off a loan at Aston Villa. He has openly stated he’s ready for a “new challenge.” But, Sheringham believes leaving Old Trafford is a mistake.

The former striker is famous for his UCL fairytale in 1999. He said that playing for a club like Man Utd is dream for many. Teddy believes Rashford is making a big mistake by leaving the club. This is particularly for someone coming from the academy.

Meanwhile, Barca target Nico Williams is staying at Bilbao and Luis Diaz is now wanted by Bayern as well. So, Rashford has reportedly come into the picture. But, Sheringham insists a move to Spain would be undeserved based on the forward’s current form and decisions.

Transfer Hopes Fade as United Await Real Offers

Despite interest from several clubs, no firm bids have landed on United’s table for Rashford. The player is valued at around £40m.

Rashford remains hopeful of either a loan move or a permanent deal. But, nothing has come through so far. Although, Barcelona could be a top club to play for. But, Sheringham remains unconvinced. He thinks Rashford has not shown the level of performance and commitment you would expect to merit such a transfer.

Once seen as the future of United, Marcus Rashford is now lurking in a difficult space. No longer featured in Ruben Amorim’s considerations and possibly doubted among some of the most respected voices of the club, the onus is now on the player to prove he deserves to be playing at the elite level.
