Rashford Set for Barcelona Switch

Manchester United have reportedly given the green light for Marcus Rashford to join Barcelona on loan, with the player now preparing for a medical.

Barcelona Land Rashford After Missing Out on Other Targets

Barcelona have sealed a surprise deal to bring Marcus Rashford in on loan from Manchester United.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants made the Englishman their top priority after failed attempts to sign Nico Williams and Luis Diaz. Rashford had a mixed spell last season, including a short-term stint at Aston Villa. He will now head to La Liga for the first time in his career.

Barca are reportedly finalising the paperwork and will soon welcome the winger for a medical. The deal includes an option to buy as well. Although, it’s not yet clear how much that clause will be worth or how the wages will be split between the two clubs.

This move comes after a rocky relationship between Rashford and new United boss Ruben Amorim. That saw him frozen out during key parts of last season. Utd are looking to trim their squad and raise funds for incoming transfers. So, the club was open to letting Rashford go.

Now, Barcelona have moved in quickly, everything is falling into place for the move to happen.

Man Utd Clear Out Continues

Rashford’s loan marks a big step in Man Utd’s squad overhaul. The Red Devils originally had the winger valued at around £40m. However, the Spanish giants only wanted to sign the player on a loan move.

For Rashford, the loan to Camp Nou gives him a fresh start after a tough year in the PL. The winger was keen to make the move. This comes after Aston Villa did not put up a fight to make his move permanent. Also, they failed to place within the top four and secure UCL football as well.

With final details being completed, Rashford is likely to fly to Spain shortly. His performances in La Liga could decide whether Barcelona make the move permanent next summer.
