Real Madrid are keen to beat Arsenal in the race to sign Spanish star this summer. They are trying really hard to disrupt the North London club’s plans.
The star in question here is Martin Zubimendi. The 25 year old has been long-term target of Gunners. He was their top target in summer 2024. But, the North London club were unable to convince him to join them.
Later, it was said that Zubimendi rejected the offer as he wanted to stay in Spain. Gunners then opted to sign his teammate Mikel Merino. But, there has once again been opening in Arsenal’s midfield position.
Jorginho and Thomas Partey are set to leave for free this summer. They both play in same position which makes midfielder signing top priority. Gunners are once again being linked with Zubimendi despite failing to land him.
However, this time it is said that the 25 year old may agree to move away from Spain. It was revealed eariler that he has agreed personal terms with Gunners. But, Spanish giants are planning to disrupt this plans in summer.
Real Madrid showing strong interest in Zubimendi
Real Madrid are willing to bring in new midfielder this summer. There are reports that the club is not impressed with Tchouameni and may part ways with him this summer. In addition, they already lost Toni Kross who left void in the squad.
Madrid were linked with Zubimendi from last month and now TEAMtalk have reported that they have intensified their efforts. They can convince the 25 year old to join them easily as it will help him to stay in Spain.
However, Gunners can still stay optimistic about landing Zubimendi. The fans will hope that Arteta once again does his magic and convinces the star to join them. Zubimendi’s transfer saga is getting interesting and it will be worth watching in summer.
