Reports suggest Real Madrid midfielder has sparked interest from Chelsea and other top PL sides.
Chelsea circle around Real Madrid midfielder
Eduardo Camavinga’s name is once again making noise in the transfer market. The Real Madrid midfielder is valued at around €80m at the moment. Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are tracking his movements in Spain.
He is only 22, but has already made a name for himself. Now, reports suggests that his position under new head coach Xabi Alonso is not as secure as it once was. That has immediately sparked interest from England. Chelsea are said to be the most keen on pushing a deal forward for the Frenchman.
Camavinga’s ability to play multiple positions, adds value. He could be used in the midfield, in a defensive position or a left-back as well. The Blues are looking for balance around Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. So, the Madrid star could be the answer.
Meanwhile, Man Utd are monitoring his situation closely too. They see him as a possible alternative to Brighton’s Carlos Baleba. Newcastle, on the other hand, see him as a player who could fit their long-term vision. That is especially if they keep hold of UCL football.
Where does Camavinga fit best?
The big question is whether Camavinga would be a regular starter at any of these clubs. At Chelsea, competition is fierce, but the Blues still lack reliable depth. United’s midfield needs fresh legs and quality, and Camavinga ticks both boxes. At Newcastle, they could give him more guaranteed minutes while offering the platform of an ambitious project.
Although, Los Blancos aren’t looking to sell their star for now. But, Alonso’s tactical tweaks have left the door slightly open. Camavinga is nearing what many view as his prime. That said, a move to the PL is going to be attractive.
Author’s Opinion:
It is not certain he will leave Madrid but the Premier League feels like a proper next step. If Chelsea go for him they could end up with a player who potentially changes their midfield for a long time.
