According to various reports Chelsea are not interested anymore to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

What really happened between Chelsea and Olise?

It is being said that the Blues were in advance talks to sign the young French winger. But in the later stages, there was a disagreement between both the parties. It is being said that Michael Olise demanded a huge salary from Chelsea. On top of that he wanted to be the highest paid player in the entire Chelsea squad. But the Blues hierarchy sticked to their disciplined wage structure. So, they were unwilling to offer such humongous amount of money.

At this moment Chelsea have financial issues regarding the FFP rules. The Premier League authority has given them a deadline to raise a certain amount of money from player sales. Although Tod Boehly has signed players on long term contracts but the Premier League authority will not overlook this strategy to avoid the FFP rules. For these various reasons Chelsea cannot spend carelessly.

Why Chelsea wanted Michael Olise?

The young French winger has lighten up the Premier League with his blistering pace and lethal finishing ability. In the last transfer window, Chelsea activated his release clause for £35m. But the deal collapsed at the advanced stages. It is being said that Crystal Palace authority didn’t like the fact that Chelsea directly approached the winger. This is the main reason that prevented Chelsea to land £35m attacker at Stamford Bridge. But now Crystal Palace have raised the amount of release clause for Michael Olise which is approximately £60m. According to various sources teams like Bayern Munich, Newcastle United, Manchester United are also in the race to sign the 22 year old french winger. That is why Chelsea want to complete the deal as soon as possible.

Chelsea want wingers who will have the ability to score goals as well as to provide assists. Chelsea hierarchy believe that Michael Olise is certainly the player they are looking for.
