Barcelona might sell Clement Lenglet to spurs

Clement Lenglet’s permanent transfer to Tottenham will cost between €15 and €20 million, according to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness. The Barcelona star is still on loan in north London, but the Catalans might let him leave in the summer. Antonio Conte eagerly pushed Tottenham to sign Clement Lenglet because he saw him as a way for the team to bolster their defensive. Like previous recent arrivals, Spurs only agreed to a loan deal with cash-strapped Barcelona for the Frenchman. The Catalans were glad to see the Frenchman leave since they had just signed Jules Kounde in a lucrative deal from Sevilla. Lenglet adapted well to Conte’s system and has largely played as an essential player for the first team. Even though he was unable to assist them in winning any major awards, he is still regarded as one of their better players during a disastrous season.

Tottenham must pay €15- €20 million for the French defender

Tottenham were thinking about signing him on a permanent basis for a while, but they delayed making a decision until later in the campaign. They might have already made up their minds on the 27-year-old Barcelona star and are ready to start negotiations. Lenglet has made 24 Premier League appearances and will return to Barcelona at the end of the current campaign. The 27-year-old, however, is without a place in Catalonia, so he could need to look for another place to fit. The Spanish giants will also accept proposals without hesitation if they help their financial circumstances. Barcelona is certain to sell Lenglet and may ask for a sizeable cash in exchange. According to the source, Tottenham may have to pay between €15 and €20 million to get the French defender, which would seem fair for a center-back.

Lenglet would prefer to establish himself at Spurs and play a regular role there next season. But he might wait for additional offers from Champions League-contending teams. Spurs might not meet the 27-year-old Barcelona star’s demands in terms of money. However they might do so in terms of showing faith in him.
