Tottenham Enter the Race for Kobbie Mainoo
Tottenham are interested in Manchester United ‘s young player Kobbie Mainoo, as per TBR Football.
The youngster showed his class last season, playing 37 games in all competitions. Spurs‘ interest may pose a real threat to Man Utd’s future plans. Although, Mainoo still has one year left on his 4-year deal to 2027.
However, the midfielder is yet to reach an agreement to a new deal with the Red Devils. He has great calmness, range of passing, and control of tempo for a young player. He would fit in at any of the top six PL teams.
Meanwhile, United fans will be losing their mind if a home-grown promising player simply walked away from the club. If the delay in signing a new deal continues, Tottenham are ready to go in on him.
Youngster’s Future Uncertain
Ruben Amorim was asked about Mainoo’s future earlier this year. He was unable to provide a proper answer regarding the long-term future of the player. His response now adds fuel to the rumours over Mainoo’s next move.
Also, given the slow nature of talks, and no signs of new deal, Tottenham have kept a close on the player. The North London side want to build a youthful, energetic squad under new head coach Thomas Frank. Given that, Mainoo would fit their plans perfectly.
However, Man Utd need to act more decisively to keep their young midfielder or leave it too late. The Red Devils will need to take key steps to keep their star’s future in their own hands.
For now, Spurs are ready and willing to sign the talented youngster in this summer window. But, that will only happen if things take a further turn for the worse at Old Trafford.
