United and Bayern Watch Rising Norwegian Defender

Premier League 2025-2026

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on 6ft5in centre-back from Norway.

Bayern And United Watching Norway’s Defensive Giant

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are interested in Norwegian defender Eivind Helland.

The centre-back for SK Brann has an impressive physical stature and on-ball ability. That has has made him one of the hottest attacking targets.. The Red Devils first saw the defender in SK Brann’s 3-1 victory over Viking Stavanger. Bayern Munich also sent one of their scouts to view Eivind against KFUM in Oslo.

Helland is well regarded in Norway. His club coach even compared him to Ballon d’Or winner Rodri before the start of the season. He recently captained his national Under-21s side in a 4-0 win over Wales.

With Harry Maguire nearing the end of his contract at Utd, Helland is being seen as a possible long-term solution. At Bayern, Kim Min-jae‘s future is uncertain after a tough season. Meanwhile, new signing Jonathan Tah is yet to settle in. The German champions sees Helland as a player who could slot into any top European backline in the near future.

Future Star Drawing Wider Attention Across Europe

Helland stands 6ft 5in tall. So, he is advantageous in aerial battles and a threat on set pieces. It is his calmness on the ball that makes him a top player. He has the ability to step out from defence and move the ball quickly.

Former Norway international Jan Age Fjortoft recently praised the youngster and called that a “huge influence” at the back.

Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg are keeping an eye on the youngster as well. So, it appears that the defender will not be in Norway for long. Salzburg, in particular, are keen and have been closely following his movements ahead of a qualifier game. That said, Eivind Helland is making his name in European football.
