Bryan Mbeumo debut delayed as United star is ruled out of the club’s final pre-season game against Everton in US.
Mbeumo Sits Out Opening Match in the States
Manchester Utd fans are hoping to see Bryan Mbeumo in action during the Premier League Summer Series. But, it seems they will have to wait a little longer.
The former Brentford winger was signed for a hue £71m. He was left out of the squad that beat West Ham 2-1 in New Jersey. Head coach Ruben Amorim hasn’t ruled out Mbeumo making an appearance in the final US match against Everton in Atlanta. However, the odds seem low.
The forward could now wait until Man Utd return to England. His absence shocked a lot of fans who were keen to see how he fits into Amorim’s plans.
The winger was not the only well known to be ruled out. Three other first team players were also absent. Keeper Andre Onana has picked up a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui is having a back issue. Striker Joshua Zirkzee was also unavailable due to a minor issue.
Despite missing key names, the Red Devils looked sharp. Captain Bruno Fernandes bagged both goals to give his side a solid start to their US tour.
Everton Take On United
United’s final match of the US tour is scheduled against Everton in Atlanta. That game could be Mbeumo’s only chance to feature. Although, Amorim’s comments suggest he may stay sidelined until the squad returns home.
Once back in Manchester, Utd will have one final pre-season match at Old Trafford on August 9 against Serie A side Fiorentina. For Mbeumo, the wait to display his talents on the field lives on. His debut may have been delayed for now. But, once he does step onto the pitch wearing a Utd shirt, he will be making the headlines.
