Man United are planning a bold move for Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson to arrive at Old Trafford while Alejandro Garnacho heads the other way.
Jackson on United Radar as Garnacho Exit Looms
Manchester Utd are eyeing a summer shake-up with their sights set on Chelsea’s £100m-rated striker Nicolas Jackson.
According to i News, head coach Ruben Amorim is keen to boost United’s front line. This comes following a poor campaign that saw the club miss out on both silverware and European spots. Amorim is reportedly pushing to land a reliable attacker. He wants someone who can leap ahead of both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Jackson, known for his speed and sharp instincts in front of goal, is in the frame. Chelsea’s recent signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap have put Jackson’s starting spot under pressure. This gives Man Utd an opening to move in. Although, Jackson is tied down to a long-term contract. So, the Blues hold a strong hand in transfer talks. But, a swap deal could even the odds.
Garnacho Could Be Key to Unlocking Chelsea Deal
Alejandro Garnacho might be the bargaining chip United need to unlock the Jackson deal. The Argentine winger has allegedly told his club that he wants to leave Old Trafford. He was told by Amorim that he is not in the club’s plans for the future.
Chelsea have liked the young player for some time. So, they may consider bringing him in as part of a swap deal. Although, there hasn’t been an official offer yet. But, the two clubs are set to discuss matters further in the next few weeks.
Utd’s are willing to spend large amounts of money this summer. They have already signed Matheus Cunha for a large sum. This shows that they are willing to back Amorim’s vision.
