Manchester United are now turning their eyes towards Norwegian youngster Eivind Helland.
Man Utd Eye Eivind Helland
Manchester United have just sealed a deal worth up to £71m for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. They are not slowing down.
The Red Devils are now considering a move for defender Eivind Helland. He plays for Norwegian side Brann. Head coach Ruben Amorim recently stepped up interest by sending scouts to watch the youngster in Brann’s 3-1 win over Viking last weekend.
Reportedly, Utd’s scouts were impressed by his performance and are now looking to make up a formal offer. Although, the club has recently spent big on new arrivals. But, they remain focused on long-term signings who can grow into future stars.
Helland is already a Norway U21 international. He could be available for around £7m. That is a price that makes him an decent option.
Defender Drawing Interest Across Europe
Helland is a good target for Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford. He can play as a centre-back and as a right-back as well. As a ball-playing defender, he possesses poise and decision-making ability.
The Red Devils are the front-runners for the player at the moment. However, many European clubs are watching Helland closely. The young defender has been aware of the interest growing around him. However, he is focusing on Brann’s title challenge in Norway for now.
Meanwhile, Brann must be hoping to keep him for another season. But, Utd’s regular scouting signals they may be ready to act fast before the September 1 deadline. Amorim is keen to build a squad that has proven talent with promising youth. So, Helland could be the next name through the door.
However, if United delay, they may risk being pulled into a bidding war. The interest is building around the top Norwegian target for this transfer window.
