Victor Osimhen Eyes Arsenal for Summer Move

Real Madrid

Victor Osimhen has shown interest in Arsenal as his next club in the summer transfer window if he departs Napoli but he is also eyeing the Saudi Pro League. Calcio Napoli reported from Valter De Maggio on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli that Osimhen has boosted the chances of Arsenal signing for the club. Napoli’s striker more preferably choose to join Arsenal as he is willing to join Saudi Pro League team in case joining the English side is out of question.

“Osimhen wants the Premier League, if the offer doesn’t come then he would consider the Arab one. There is no club paying the clause today, Osimhen would like Arsenal otherwise he would consider Saudi Arabia” De Maggio stated

Victor Osimhen’s Time at Napoli

Since signing for Napoli from Lille in September 2020, Victor Osimhen has emerged as one of the finest strikers globally. The Nigerian international has played a big role in Napoli turning from contenders for the top four into real contenders for the Serie A title.

The 25-year-old played a pivotal role to help Napoli win the Scudetto last year. It was a memorable moment for the club as they had waited for over 30 years to achieve this. However this season has not been such a joy for both Osimhen and Napoli because the player has only scored 17 goals with four assist in 31 matches in all competitions. However, this has not in any way changed the reputation of the young striker Osimhen. Fans have already observed that several clubs including Arsenal are likely to be linked with the player during the next transfer window.

Arsenal’s Interest in Victor Osimhen

Arsenal’s interest in Victor Osimhen makes sense. The Gunners are looking to sign a top striker in the summer transfer window due to Gabriel Jesus’s poor form in this season. The Brazilian striker has struggled to score, and Eddie Nketiah has also not impressed.

While Kai Havertz has played well, he is not seen as Arsenal’s first-choice striker. Therefore, Osimhen has become a key target for the North London club. The 25-year-old’s interest in joining Arsenal boosts their chances of signing him.

Recent reports have also linked Victor Osimhen with Manchester United and Chelsea. However, Arsenal’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League could be a decisive factor for the Nigerian international. It will be interesting to see whether he moves to the Emirates Stadium or chooses a club in the Saudi Pro League instead.

Other Clubs in the Mix for Nigerian International

Chelsea must sell some players if they want to sign Victor Osimhen. Fortunately for Pochettino, the club has many extra players that can be sold in order to provide the required amount of money.

Romelu Lukaku, signed from Inter Milan for £38 million, last featured in Chelsea’s match in the 2021/2022 season. Most probable, he will gather a lot of interest following 21 goals for AS Roma. There is also expectation that another striker Armando Broja, reportedly bought for £50 million by Chelsea in January will have to also leave after a mediocre season on loan with Fulham.

While a swap deal could be a possibility it doesn’t appear that Chelsea have players that Napoli would deem an appropriate replacement for the wantaway Nigerian.

In summary, Victor Osimhen is keen on joining Arsenal if he leaves Napoli. Although he is also open to moving to the Saudi Pro League. His desire to play in the Premier League, specifically for Arsenal, enhances the club’s prospects of signing him. Despite a challenging season, Osimhen remains a highly sought-after striker, with several top clubs interested in his services.
