Vlahovic Turns Down United Approach
Manchester Utd’s chances of signing Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic look to be almost over. The Juventus forward is looking more likely to be switching to AC Milan.
The 25-year-old had been on Man United’s radar for some time. The club is looking for an experienced striker that could be brought in at an affordable price. After spending £62.5m on Matheus Cunha, Utd are looking to find affordable options to bring more firepower into the squad.
Dusan managed to bag 10 goals last season. He would appear to be a great solution. The player is linked heavily with a move to the Premier League. However, it looks more likely that Vlahovic will remain in Italy. AC Milan made the Juve man a top priority to help sharpen their frontline. Reports in Italy say the the striker’s transfer should be finalized soon.
Red Devils Face More Transfer Window Challenges
Missing out on Vlahovic is just one of several blows for Man Utd this week. The Red Devils are also dealing with an injury setback to first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana. He could now miss the start of the season due to a hamstring issue.
With that, Utd might be forced back into the market to find a short-term replacement. The club has reportedly been offered free agents like Jamie Vardy, Callum Wilson, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Additionally, the club is also preparing for major changes in the squad. Marcus Rashford has returned from a loan stint at Aston Villa. But, he may still be on the move. Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho’s future remains uncertain after a falling out with the manager. The Argentine has rejected a possible reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo as well.
