Wenger names clubs who can stop Arsenal in UCL

Gunner Lucas Perez

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger shared his thoughts on which teams might derail Arsenal in UCL.

Gunners’ big chance on the European stage

Arsene Wenger is optimistic regarding the future of this Arsenal team. Not only as a squad that is capable of competing, but also as a squad that can win in Europe. The Frenchman has been involved in over twenty years of forming the club’s personality. He admires Arteta’s group for its vitality, harmony, and daring style of play.

He considers the team from North London as strong as any to fight for the title of the best in Europe this year. Wenger pointed out the recent games of Arsenal as proof of maturity and hunger. These are the two traits that he usually saw as missing in his last years at the club. The ex-coach thinks the squad’s confidence and offensive movement show that they are capable of competing with the strongest teams in Europe.

The two clubs Wenger sees as real threats for Arsenal in UCL

However, Wenger is not completely unaware about the hard times that are ahead. He, after the latest win of Arsenal, named Bayern Munich and PSG as the two teams which could likely stop the Gunners from clinching the title.

The coach also considered Real Madrid as a potential dark horse. But, he placed Bayern’s experience and PSG’s talent as the highest hurdles. Wenger’s opinion shows how close Arsenal are to really being one of the top teams in Europe again. He has a say not only because he is a former club member but also owing to the fact he is aware of the factors that determine victory at such high stakes.

Author’s opinion:

Wenger’s trust in Arsenal looks to be justified. The team, along with their manager Arteta, are displaying greater solidarity, higher proficiency, and have attained tactical readiness. However, the European top stage is a trial for everything. Should Arsenal cope with that stress, this could be their finest time in a long while.
