Dutch Star Xavi Simons Linked With a Premier League Move
Xavi Simons has been one of the best young players in Europe this season with RB Leipzig. The young winger was previously with PSG and already showcased incredible technical knockout ability. He grabbed a lot of eyes in the Bundesliga this season. He has just recently generated interests from clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal.
Simons has showed that he can perform various attacking roles. He can be used as a wide-man or centrally as a playmaker. There will be more added depth to the club he joins.
The Gunners are targeting some attacking depth. Xavi has the creativity and energy in his game. He can be another option in both a starting role, and as a squad rotation player.
Chelsea have struggled for attackers from wide areas. Meanwhile, Noni Madueke ha left and Mykhailo Mudryk is potentially facing a ban. So, Simons could provide good attacking depth.
The Journey So Far and What He’ll Cost
Simons started out at Barcelona’s academy and was signed by PSG in 2019. After being mostly a spectator while in Paris, he moved to PSV Eindhoven. He made a name for himself by scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in a single season. PSG took note and ended up sign him again, but sent him to RB Leipzig on loan right away.
Since then, he has been on fire in Germany. Leipzig later finalised his move. It has been suggested that a fee around €70m might be the enough to get a deal done.
For teams like Arsenal and Chelsea, that could be a reasonable price for a player entering into his prime. He has great potential and can change a game.
