Recently, Calciomercato reported that Chelsea are set to sign the new young Argentinian defender Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors. Ac Milan and Manchester United also want to sign the Argentinian, but the Blues are confident that they will get Anselmino in the summer.
Chelsea are ready to pay a transfer fee of 18M for the 19-year-old wonderkid which is 2M less than his release clause. As per some reports, Aaron Anselmino has agreed on personal terms with the west London side. However, the deal has not been officially announced yet, but both the clubs are now moving toward the final agreement.
Same as last season, Chelsea are busy in the transfer market and wants to add some young talents to the squad in the summer transfer window. The Blues already completed the signing of center-back TosinAdarabioyo from Fulham for free and 17-year-old Brazilian Estevao Willian from Palmeiras for an initial fee of 37M. However, Chelsea’s young defender Ian Matseen Completes the Aston Villa move. So, the Blues want some young talent for the backline.

Recently, Chelsea agreed to sign Pedro Lima from Sport Recife and sent him to Strasbourg, which have been integrated into Chelsea’s multi-club ownership model. French Club Strasbourg have become an essential platform for all the youngsters signed by Chelsea before moving to Stamford Bridge. Last season Chelsea sent two young Brazilians Angelo Gabriel and Andrey Santos to Strasbourg. Many believe that the 19-year-old Argentinian will follow the same path.
Who is Aaron Anselmino?
Aaron Anselmino appeared for the first-team squad for Boca Juniors before graduating from the youth Academy. The Argentinian made his senior team debut in June 2023, just after signing a professional contract with Boca Juniors. The 19-year-old performed brilliantly for Boca Juniors and also scored a goal in his senior career for the club.
Anselmino’s talent has not gone unnoticed. Clubs like Manchester United, Ac Milan, and Chelsea are in the race to get the young talent in their team. Manchester United particularly wants a new defender in the summer after the departure of Rafael Varane. Ac Milan is also very keen to sign the young talent but as per reports Chelsea are leading the race and the transfer deal is now in the final stages.
Boca Juniors wants to retain the youngster until June 2025 on loan. But Chelsea are not willing to loan back Aaron Anselmino to Boca Juniors. According to some reports, Enzo Maresca’s side wants him at Stamford Bridge immediately. So, the question remains whether Chelsea wants to loan back the youngster to Boca Juniors.
