Farhad Moshiri Makes New Turnover Decision Of Everton

Everton

According to Sky Sports, Premier League club Everton will overcome their financial problems and could have a new stadium free of debt if and when Farhad Moshiri sells the club to Dan Friedkin. American businessman Dan Friedkin became the main shareholder of the Italian club As Roma after signing the preliminary contract in 2020. Now the American is willing to buy the majority share of Everton.

Recently news came out that Dan Friedkin signed an agreement with Frahas Moshiri. Moshiri purchased 49.9% state of Everton in 2016. In January 2022, Moshiri increased his shares to almost 94%. So, it is believed that Dan Friedkin will acquire 94% shares in the club. Moshiri had a number of options before selecting Friedkin. Alan Myers reported that one of the main factors behind Moshiri’s choosing of Friedkin as his successor of the club was to succeed him as majority shareholder above other options.

Now the Friedkin group has to pay off a whopping 158M loan given to the club by MSP Sports Capital. Apart from this the groups also have to pay an additional 40M to assist with working capital and stadium funding. Everton was setting up a new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, which will become the home ground for the toffees ahead of the 2025-26 season replacing Goodison Park. However, over the past 12 months, the new stadium’s work has been stopped because of the loan from MSP and other financial problems.

Will the turnover change the present scenario of Everton?

However, Everton fans are eager to know their new owner and what plans the owner has for the club in the future. Friedkin already bought As Roma in 2020. The American brought Jose Mourinho as the manager of Roma and helped the club to win the Europa Conference League in 2022. Last year the club reached the Europa League final before losing to Sevilla. Everton fans also want the same success under the ownership of Friedkin. Friedkin finds many similarities between As Roma and Everton, which makes him a huge fan of Everton.

Everton have been facing many financial problems. Last season the club faced points deduction two times because of Premier League financial fair play rules. Last season the club barely survived the relegation, finished in 15th position. So, the fans believed that the new owner would bring the glory days back. The American businessman is eager to make Everton one of the best clubs in England. The turnover of the club’s ownership with a boost to stadium finances might change the scenario.
