Liverpool Star Saved Brazil From A Potential Loss Against USA

After their embarrassing 5-1 loss against Colombia on June 9, the USA national team drew 1-1 with Brazil on Thursday. This result is a massive boost for the USA before their first match against Bolivia in the Copa America campaign on June 24. But the match might go USA’s favor. The Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker denied what could have been the USA’s first win against Brazil in 26 years. The USA national team remains winless against their South American counterparts in twelve straight matches. This was the USMNT’s first draw with Brazil.

It was Brazil that struck first in the match. Brazil took the lead in the 17th minute after Raphinha gave a beautiful pass to Real Madrid forward Rodrygo who scored an easy goal from the penalty box. But the lead didn’t last long, as Cristian Pulisic scored a stunning free kick in the 26th minute of the game for USA. The Ac Milan forward scored his 29th goal in his 68 matches for USA. It was the Pulisic’s first free kick goal in his international career. However, the first half ends one goal each. In second half both the teams failed to score a goal. Brazil introduced the 17-year-old Endric in the 65th minute but failed to do any impact. Ultimately the match ends 1-1.

But it is Alisson Becker who steals the show in the second half. midway in the second half USA got a massive chance to complete the comeback and win the match. In the 68th minute Weston Mckennie passed a beautiful ball to Cristian pulisic. All that need was a clean finish from Pulisic. But Alisson Becker denied Christian Pulisic with a outstanding save. Alisson Becker made six saves in this match, while on the other side USA’s goalkeeper Matt Turer made 11 saves, his career best for the USA national team.
