Of course, getting to know their names and what they are capable of doing is half the fun!

Pre-season is an ideal period for the clubs to see themselves back into operation.. Instead of textbooks, though, they use footballs! This Diary has been shadowing the teams–training, passing, and trying to keep fit. They also arrange friendly games that help dissolve into the real ones. It is like a dress rehearsal, no?

With the weekend’s friendly games behind them, and the official season unfurled for all, the former period of presensational friendly games is still being observed in all its thrilling grandeur by this Chelsea Diary. If one said friendly matches were a test of the head coach’s requirements for players or traditional tactics, they would be correct. It is also when the new players make their first break. Sometimes, it can just raise friendly matches into a whole new realm for travel!
