AC Milan eyeing Argentine sensation Julian Alvarez

Italian giants AC Milan have made solid steps in their pursuit of Argentine forward Julian Alvarez. The club have sent officials in person to monitor the 21-year-old in action.

According to news coming from Calciomercato, officials from AC Milan was present for the River Plate vs San Lorenzo match in Argentina. Julian Alvarez did not disappoint the visitors as he scored a hattrick to help the River Plate side to a comfortable 3-1 victory.

AC Milan are highly interested in signing Alvarez to bolster their attack. However, they will be facing tough competition from the likes of Aston Villa, Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen, who are also monitoring the player.

ALVAREZ TO BE AVAILABLE FOR REDUCED PRICE FOR AC MILAN

Julian Alvarez has been shining for the River Plate especially this season. His form for the club has earned his call up to the Argentina national squad. Currently, the player has 10 goals from 13 appearances in the Liga Profesional. Alvarez has netted 26 times for River Plate across all competition, ever since moving into the senior squad.

But the 21-year-old does dream of moving to Europe to make a name for himself. His contract with River Plate is till the December of 2022. This means that River Plate could be tempted to sell him in the coming transfer window, rather than risking a free transfer.

As per reports, there is a €25m release clause on Julian Alvarez. However, the contract situation meant that clubs like AC Milan could sign him for a reduced fee. But with interest mounting from other clubs in Europe the Rossoneri will have to act fast to sign the young forward.
