Al Sadd talks about Xavi amidst Barcelona rumour

Qatar based club Al Sadd has responded to the speculation revolving around the future of their manager Xavi Hernandez. The Spanish legend is favourite for the recently vacant Barcelona manager job.

Al Sadd through their Twitter account has provided a statement that provides light on the future of their manager. Meanwhile, the tweet reaffirms that Xavi has a two-year contract with Al Sadd and is only concentrating on their next match.

However, the tweet has not rejected the possibility of Xavi leaving Al Sadd. The Spaniard is the main target for FC Barcelona who sacked their manager Ronald Koeman.

“In response to what’s circulating recently, the Al-Saad management reaffirms that Xavi has a two-year contract with the club and is fully focused on the team’s upcoming matches, to maintain our lead at the top of the league and to defend the title.”

Xavi has been impressive at Al Sadd in the role of a manager. He took over as the manager of the Doha based club in 2019 after retiring as a player at the same club. Ever since taking over the reign, Xavi has been very successful.

Currently, his side has won all 8 of their match in the Qatar Stars League as Al-Saad is looking forward to defending the title. Amidst this, the lure of Barcelona could surely tempt Xavi. The 41-year-old was a La Masia product who went on to be part of one of the most dominant sides in Club football.

Barcelona reports being in talks with Xavi over a possible return. Barcelona is currently in discussion with Al Sadd to release the manager. Though they released a statement it is believed that Xavi could leave Al Sadd in the coming days.
