Despite joining the north London club back in 2019 from Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne. The defender hasn’t made any competitive appearance for the Gunners over the past few campaigns.

William Saliba is set to return to Arsenal this summer following the end of his loan spell. And the youngster has provided his verdict about his desire to return to Marseille. He said(via Metro):
“My wish is to finish the season well, to leave on a good note in case I don’t come back. It would be my pleasure to come back no matter what, it’s not as if I know I’m not going to come back, it’s Marseille, it’s my club.”
What will Arsenal decide about the future of William Saliba?
It will be interesting to see what the Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta will decide about the youngster’s future. The North London club are set to qualify for the European competitions next season. And therefore, they need to strengthen their squad depth in order to achieve their objectives for the next season.
The North London club have suffered from their injury issues this season. And they have struggled in several games due to the lack of squad depth. So, strengthening the backline will be a shrewd decision.
William Saliba has showcased his talent at the top level and therefore, Arsenal should consider keeping him. The North London club only have Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes as their centre-back. Given the other option, Rob Holding has displayed his limitations whenever he got a chance.
