Crystal Palace agreed on a fee for Celtic star Edouard

Crystal Palace have reportedly agreed on a fee for Celtic star Odsonne Edouard, as per the report from journalist John Percy

The 23-years-old joined the Scottish giants back in 2017 on an initial loan move from Paris Saint-Germain. The deal became permanent in the following summer for around €10 million. The forward spent a productive spell for the Bhoys, scoring 88 goals in 179 appearances in all competitions during this period.

According to Percy, Crystal Palace are set to pay around £15 million to Celtic for Odsonne Edouard. The player has undergone medical on Tuesday and the deal will wrap up in the next few hours.

The Premier League side initially wanted to sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal, however, the deal never materialised. So, Patrick Vieira decided to go with the alternative options. The French forward had only one year remaining in his contract with the Scottish giants and selling him was the only way for the Bhoys, otherwise, they will have to lose the 23-years-old for free next summer.

Crystal Palace set to sign Odsonne Edouard:

Patrick Vieira wanted a new forward in his squad and signing Edouard will be a shrewd purchase for Crystal Palace. The Frenchman was previously linked with a move to the Premier League, however, it never happened. So, now the 23-years-old has a huge opportunity to showcase his talent in one of the best leagues in the world.

The former PSG man will link up brilliantly with Wilfred Zaha upfront and could make a lethal attack for the Eagles. The Frenchman can find the back of the net, unlike Christian Benteke who is not a prolific goal scorer.

Meanwhile, after a disappointing start to the new campaign, Palace will be hoping to get back to the winning ways. However, it will not be easy for them as they will encounter Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the next two games after the international break.
