Daniel Chima Chukwu has failed to live up to the expectations of SC East Bengal. The officials are not at all pleased with his performances. If he is unable to show up in the next few games, then there is a possibility he will be released in the upcoming January transfer window. His recent displays depict a lack of match fitness. In addition, his first touch is quite appalling.
Officials at East Bengal have already begun looking at possible replacements. One of the players on their shortlist is Mirza Muratovic.
Possible Daniel Chima replacements
Mirza Muratovic is an Australian footballer of Bosnian descent. He kicked off his career in the Brisbane Roar youth squad. After that, he donned the colors of Wellington Phoenix in the A-League. In his 21 A-league matches, he scored a total of 4 goals.
Apart from playing as a center forward, he is able to operate as a second striker and a winger as well. He is highly skillful with the ball at his, a quality which is a big plus for any team. The forward could be an ideal stand-in for Daniel Chima if acquired.
Bright Enobakhare on return
The Red & Gold Brigade are in advanced talks with Bright Enobakhare and Stephen Eze. Bright Enobakhare has demanded a sum of 30,000,000 from SCEB for signing a 3-month contract with the team. On the other hand, Jonathan Moya has refused the contract offer from East Bengal due to a shorter contract length.
New Coach??
East Bengal are also in search of someone who can succeed Manolo Diaz. Presently, Mridul Banerjee will continue the duty of team selection and tactical decisions. Talks are on with Manolo Diaz regarding mutual termination. Apart from Elco Schattorie and Juan Carlos Garrido, they are also in contact with a reputed coach from Croatia.
This season has been an absolute nightmare for the East Bengal team. At the moment, they languish in 11th position in the league table. All is not lost though just yet. The January transfer window draws closer and with it possible changes of coach and players.
