How can Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal line up against Norwich City

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

The Premier League is about to reach the halfway mark in a few weeks. It will be time for some reverse fixtures, which can decide the movements in the points table. Arsenal will not look to lose this match as they have already beaten Norwich City, back in September. Norwich’s struggle down the relegation zone could be something that this Gunners team can take advantage of.

The North London outfit have won their last three PL matches on the trot. Arsenal are currently eying for two trophies, the PL and the (EFL) Carabao Cup. They have proceeded to the semi-finals of the EFL and the Gunners will lock horns against Liverpool to book a berth in the finals.

Mikel Arteta has started the same playing XI for four consecutive matches in the PL. This is for the first time in over six years that Arsenal have played with the same starting line-up in the top-flight. It is going to be very unlikely to see an unchanged XI for the fixture against the Canaries.

ARSENAL TEAM NEWS:-

Right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu was subbed off against Leeds United during their mid-week clash after sustaining a muscular injury. The Japanese side-back might not be available for selection on Sunday. Cedric Soares, who was a part of the Gunners team mid-week, could replace Tomiyasu in the starting XI.

There are a number of COVID-19 cases in the Arsenal team which includes Calum Chambers, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Pablo Mari. The trio is self-isolating and is not available for Arsenal this Sunday. Ainsley Maitland-Niles will also miss Arsenal’s clash against Norwich due to Illness.

Meanwhile, Pierre Emrick-Aubameyang could again make way for Alexandre Lacazette in the starting lineup. Aubameyang’s rift with Arsenal is still not solved and he might have to wait to play for the Gunners. After an excellent hat-trick against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, Eddie Nketiah could be among the substitutes against Norwich. While Emile Smith Rowe could make a start against the bottom-side Canaries.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:

Ramsdale; Soares, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Lacazette
