Ibrahimovic Happy at AC Milan and wants a Contract Extension

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is having a very good season for AC Milan. However, he has had difficulties staying fit so far this season. This is his second stint at Milan after he was signed as a free agent in January 2020.

It seemed after he suffered a horrific knee injury at Manchester United he might retire from the game. But he went to the USA to play in the MLS. He got his reputation back as a forward for LA Galaxy.

The 39-year-old Swedish forward has only four months remaining in his contract with the Rossoneri. His contract will expire at the end of the season. If Milan gives him a contract extension which is very much likely and Zlatan signs it then he will be going strong even at the age of 40-year-old.

IBRAHIMOVIC IS STILL GOING STRONG AT AC MILAN

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been involved in 14 games for AC Milan in Serie A and scored 14 goals. He has played 20 games in all competitions for Milan and scored 15 goals this season.

Since arriving in Italy he scored 24 goals in 32 Serie A games for Stefano Pioli’s side. In a very young Milan side, he was instrumental as he has loads of experience which helped Milan to reach the height where they are now.

” As long as I’m fine, I’ll go on. I didn’t want to get trapped in dead-end situations or even trap my club. That’s why I signed up for six months on arrival and then renewed. I am for the freedom of choice.” – Ibrahimovic expressed his desire to remain at the Milan.

AC Milan were at the top of the table at one stage of the season but the young side with the injury to Ibrahimovic didn’t help the situation and right now they are sitting 2nd with 6 points behind the city rival Inter Milan. If they decide to tie Ibrahimovic down for one more year it will instrumental for their rebuild.
