Odisha FC defeated CRPF FC 6-0 in their inaugural encounter of the Indian Women’s League here on Thursday.
Odisha dominated proceedings from the start and had greater ball possession. They scored their first goal in the 20th minute. When Ngangom Bala Devi supplied a defense-splitting ball that Dangmei Grace headed in to give her team a 1-0 lead.
After then, Odisha gained total control. And utilised the breadth of the ground to generate a terrific passing brand of football.
Odisha FC increased their advantage when Cynthia Marcondes squared off Juli Kishan’s beautiful cross inside the box from the left wing.
Bala Devi and company struck the back of the goal twice more before the interval to put the game out of reach of the CRPF. Faustina Worwornyo Akpo of Ghana was the first to respond to a loose ball inside the box, slotting it in to make it 3-0, before Serto Lynda Kom punched home the fourth goal in extra time.
After exchanging sides, the champions maintained their speed and had some terrific ball movement.
The side improved on their rhythm from the first half, with Bala Devi commanding the team’s engine in the centre. Finally, in the 65th minute, the Odisha captain was rewarded for her outstanding performance throughout the game.
The No. 10 got the ball just beyond the area, had a look at goal, spotted the CRPF custodian off the line and scored the upper left corner.
Jasoda Munda scored the game’s sixth goal minutes later after being left unmarked inside the area. Bala Devi’s deceptive manoeuvre once again confused the CRPF defence.

Lords defeat Celtic Queens 4-0 Elsewhere in Group B, Lords FA defeated Celtic Queens FC 4-0 at the Shahibaug Police Stadium.
