Manchester United’s first summer deal might rely on a favor from Manchester City’s owners.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe might need a favor from the owners of Manchester City to help secure one of Manchester United’s first summer signings. Ratcliffe and his team of newly appointed executives are getting ready for a busy transfer window at Old Trafford, with the INEOS boss already starting to put plans into action.

With Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox already part of the team at Old Trafford. Talks are underway for Dan Ashworth, Ratcliffe’s plans for off-field matters are coming together. But with less than a month left in the current season, focus has shifted to the possibility of new players joining the team.

Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez Caught the Eye of Manchester United’s

One player that Manchester United is interested in is Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez. The 22-year-old has performed well for his team in La Liga this season. Girona might make it to the Champions League next season. It’s interesting because United might not play in the Champions League, but there’s still talk about them wanting Gutierrez. However, there could be a problem with Girona’s owners for Ratcliffe and his team.

Girona is part of the City Football Group, which is a group of clubs worldwide owned by the Manchester City leadership. So, for United to sign Gutierrez, they might need a favor from City’s owners to approve the deal. City Football Group only owns 47% of Girona. They could still have a say in selling one of Girona’s top players to United, their Premier League rivals.

This comes at a time when United is expected to make changes, especially in defense. Even before the transfer window opens, United could benefit from a transfer boost. Tosin Adarabioyo, a player they are interested in, is likely to become a free agent this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, Adarabioyo, who used to play for Manchester City and has been linked with United before, has turned down contract offers from Fulham and will leave the club in June without a transfer fee.
