Manchester United to Extend Contract for Mason Greenwood

Manchester United

Mason Greenwood will continue to be a Manchester United player even after his contract ends in 2025.

Manchester United have told Mason Greenwood that they will add another year to his contract. So he will stay with the team until 2026. They want to sell him this summer, but if they can’t find a buyer willing to pay enough, they’ll let him play for them again.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will be in charge of making big decisions during their first transfer window at Manchester United. The club plans to consider offers for all of its senior players, except for Andre Onana, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund.

Manchester United Firm on £30-40 Million Price Tag for Greenwood

Greenwood is one of the players the club’s new co-owners are trying to sell to raise money and comply with Financial Fair Play rules. The 22-year-old forward did well after coming back from an 18-month loan at Getafe. He scored 10 goals and made six assists in 31 games for them in La Liga.

According to ESPN, Manchester United want £30 million to £40 million for Greenwood this summer and won’t settle for less. They might let him come back to the club if they don’t get good offers. There are teams from England, Italy, and Spain who are interested in him.

United also want to make sure they don’t lose Greenwood for free next year. That gives them more power when negotiating in the next few months.

Mason Greenwood’s Contract Extension

According to HITC, Manchester United have told their former player, who used to wear the No. 11 shirt, that they will extend his contract until June 2026.

This suggests that Greenwood might stay with the club if no one meets the price United wants for him. It shows how important he is to the team, especially since other players haven’t been offered contract extensions yet.

Greenwood’s potential return might cause controversy because of issues last year when the club tried to reintegrate him. But by extending his contract until 2026, the club might still loan him out next season, and they could still sell him a year before his contract ends.
