Newcastle likely to miss Joao Felix’s transfer to Chelsea this January

Felix

Newcastle is likely to miss Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix to Chelsea this January transfer window. It will be the second blow from the Blues to the Magpies. They have most probably completed the negotiations with Andrey Santos. Newcastle was after the Brazilian kid for a long time and was about to complete the deal. Now, reliable reports are confirming Santos move to Stamford Bridge for an initial €13.6M.

Felix to Chelsea or Newcastle

The 23-year-old La Liga forward is not happy with Simeone. Their relationship has already broken. Now, the Madrid-based club wants to offload the player in January. Earlier Man United was on pole position to sign him but now it seems that Chelsea will sign him on a loan deal. Newcastle also wanted him but the Blues have ‘take the cake‘.

Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes has traveled around Europe to find the best suited for the player. Arsenal’s name was also linked but Chelsea might secure this deal next month on a loan transfer but with an option to buy.

After Santos, Newcastle got another blow from the Blues. Newcastle’s name was heavily linked with the Portuguese forward but now it seems that Chelsea has ‘scored another victory‘. They expected to complete both the Magpies target in the January transfer window. Nonetheless, the Blues could also sign the French centre-back Benoit Badiashile and LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David.

As for now, it seems very difficult for Newcastle to bring the La Liga attacker to St James Park. Because Chelsea are on the pole position to sign him. Undoubtedly, Felix would have been a great addition for the Magpies but losing out to the Blues won’t harm as much as the Andrey Santos catastrophe.
