Potential New Manchester United Manager’s Impact on Mason Mount’s Revival

Kim Min-jae

Even if Manchester United had won against Burnley with a score of 1-0 in the Premier League, Erik ten Hag would still have felt a lot of pressure.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford after Burnley scored a last-minute penalty kick. This just adds to the pressure on Erik ten Hag. Some people want him to be replaced at the end of the season, and there are many potential candidates being considered to take his place.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the people in charge at Manchester United might choose a different path to guide the team into a possibly more successful future.

Potential Replacements for Ten Hag at Manchester United

Even though Ten Hag is still holding onto his job for now, rumors at Old Trafford are buzzing about who could replace the unpopular 54-year-old manager in the future.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, there were rumors that Borussia Dortmund’s current head coach, Edin Terzic, could replace the Dutchman. Additionally, there were rumors suggesting that Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi might come in after the season ends. However, according to the Guardian, the new favorite for the job is surprisingly England manager Gareth Southgate.

Potential Impact of Southgate’s Appointment on Mason Mount

This change would likely make Mason Mount happy. He has performed well under Southgate’s coaching during international matches. Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw would also be okay with Southgate joining, as they have played for him before. Southgate might leave his role as England’s manager to return to club football.

Mount will aim to rediscover his best form from his time at Chelsea at Old Trafford. He has only played 13 Premier League matches this season under Ten Hag due to recurring injuries. Mount might hope that Southgate will be the manager who can support him and help him perform better. Despite his injuries, Mount has shown flashes of brilliance this season when he has been fit.

Appointing Southgate as manager would be a big gamble because of his past coaching performance at Middlesbrough. However, it could benefit the English players at Manchester United, who might be highly motivated to play for him if he’s the right choice after Ten Hag.
